Surface in-situ aerosol properties began being measured at BOS in September, 2019. In the fall of 2020 the site sampled smoke from local, regional and west coast fires. In addition to the standard suite of aerosol instruments, BOS also hosts aerosol size distribution measurements, and aethalometer (AE33). A Purple Air low cost sensor was deployed at the site from Feb 2020-Jan 2021. A PM10/PM2.5/PM1 measurement has been operating at the site since July 2021.
