List of Maintenance Tasks

• Overnight filtered air check on nephelometer, PSAP (and/or CLAP)
• CN comparison - compare station CPC with 'standard' CPC
• Replace system filters in nephelometer, CO2 line and upstream of mass flow meters and controllers
• Clean pumpbox components (e.g., pitot tube, carbon vane pump filter, rotameters); calibrate pitot tube flow; check carbon vane length
• Inspect stack and stack supports including guy wires for rust/cracks or other problems
• Inspect span check system (e.g., tubing, rotameter, filter, connections)
• Clean flow splitter and inlet tubing; calibrate T/RH sensor; insulate tubing from UV
• Nephelometer - replace filters, clean light trap and flocked paper; inspect tubing; check and adjust PMT voltages; calibrate if needed
• PSAP - inspect and clean internal tubing; inspect orings; calibrate PSAP flow; check PSAP settings are NOAA PSAP settings
• CLAP - check CLAP flow and calibrate if needed (consult with NOAA scientist); clean and inspect neph blower block and check blower block positioning
• Impactor Box - inspect impactors for rust; check impactor o-rings; clean impactor box tubing; check impactor switching valve - is it swtiching properly; replace filter upstream of mass flow controller; calibrate mass flow controller; calibrate T/RH sensor
• CN BOX - replace Nafion drier tube; replace filter upstream of mass flow meters; calibrate mass flow meters; clean CN critical orifice and focusing nozzle; clean CN inlet line; measure flow at CN inlet
• uMac - check cooling fans are operating; calibrate pressure sensor array
• PID - check cooling fans are operating
• UPS - do a battery runtime test; replace battery if needed
• Inventory - make a list of instruments and supplies, and plan for any needed replacements
• Miscellaneous - update cpd.conf with new calibrations; make back-up of usb stick with new cpd.conf file; photograph system, particularly any problem areas; update station flow diagram
